Forward Lies A Beacon
By Tina
As I travel down this lonesome road
That is better known as life
I once again encounter
A crossroad....filled with strife
I can choose to journey forth
Not knowing where I'm bound
Or return to what I know already
Just by slowly turning round
Forward lies a beacon
Emitting warmth and light
Behind me lies a broken heart
And blackness like the night
The decision should be easy
But I struggle with the choice
"Are you really brave enough"
Whispers a soft and lonely voice
I turn and look behind me
Recalling all that could have been
Can I rewrite what has happened
If I just try again?
Once again I turn around
The beacon is still shining
Can I trust this cloud
To have a silver lining?
As I stand there looking
At the loving light before me
I realize that the past is gone
And my heart is suddenly set free
I can't be sure what lies ahead
But I know what I believe
The beacon will forever guide me
And for the past I will not grieve
